Reproductive Wellness for Women with Chronic Conditions
Women who live with chronic conditions are at increased risk for experiencing poor birth outcomes, including maternal morbidity and mortality. With resources from the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute Eugene Washington PCORI Engagement Award, a North Carolina based team spent a year listening to the perspectives and ideas of women of color with lived experience. This webinar will feature their voices and work as we share challenges and opportunities for improving reproductive care for women living with chronic conditions.
By attending this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Recognize how Black and Native American women with chronic conditions think about their reproductive health decision-making and ways to optimize their health.
- Identify patient-centered, patient-designed strategies to improve care and life course health and well-being.
- Describe community-based participatory research methods, including graphic narration, to build connection and improve women’s health and prevent maternal mortality and morbidity
The webinar will be presented by members of the research team, led by community partners. Speakers and the team include:
- Shaunette Howard
- Melissa Richardson
