Webinar: Maternal Health and the Four Fears of COVID-19: Understanding and Responding Authentically to Ourselves and Others

Join MHLIC on December 9, 2020 at 12:00 pm ET for a webinar conversation about how the prolonged anxiety of uncertainty wrought by COVID-19 impacts our work in maternal health.

Clinical and Industrial Psychologist Edwin J. Nichols, PhD, will outline the four fears of COVID-19: fear of death, loss, conflict and future, and strategies for coping with each. This webinar will equip maternal health practitioners, working at the individual, community, and systems levels, to better recognize, relate, and respond to the fears of their clients. Additionally, it will help listeners develop coping skills to survive the demands of wearing multiple hats, something most of us have been called to do during the pandemic.

Register for the webinar here.

By the end of this webinar, attendees will be able to:

  • Explain how the home can be the most stressful environment during COVID-19;
  • Differentiate between normal stresses and those exacerbated by COVID-19;
  • Identify when a mental health referral is needed; and
  • Develop coping skills to survive the demands of wearing multiple hats.
